NYS Education Department Resources


Provides guidance, information, and resources for HIV/AIDS instruction as required by NYS education law and Commissioner's regulations 135.5 


Provides a framework for developing health curricula and implementing instructional and assessment strategies to assist schools and school districts to provide appropriate, current, and culturally sensitive information regarding HIV/AIDS and help schools be part of the solution in the prevention of HIV/AIDS for NYS youth and their families.

NYSDOH AIDS Institute Resources

Coordinates state programs, services, and activities related to HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and hepatitis C. 


Collaborative effort of the NYSDOH AIDS Institute (AI), Office of the Medical Director (OMD), and the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. They include current updates to both PrEP and PEP. 


Provides information on the updated HIV Testing Laws that patients over the age of 13 should be offered an HIV test. Materials are available in 6 languages and can be ordered using the order form link above.  

 
Provides information on demographic data on new HIV diagnoses among young New Yorkers.


Assists NYS health care providers in improving health outcomes related to HIV, STDs, and hepatitis C (HCV). Provide free online and on-site HIV, HCV, and STD education to clinicians and disseminate AIDS Institute clinical practice guidelines. There are 3 CEI Centers of Excellence in NYS.
